Matthew Laprade is one of the most active and accomplished young race car drivers in the Southeast. At just 14 years old, he is competing across four divisions simultaneously — Pro Trucks, Late Model Stock Cars, Asphalt Modifieds, and Sportsman
— with four dedicated teams and a schedule that would challenge drivers twice his age. Backed by a strong family program and a relentless work ethic, Matthew is building the foundation for a professional motorsport career one race at a time.

Pro Truck
Matthew’s Pro Truck home, fielding the iconic #54 Adrenalin Powersports truck at Five Flags Speedway, Mobile International Speedway, and Cordele Speedway. Grant Thompson Racing is where Matthew has built much of his short track reputation — and where some of his most memorable results have come.
Late Model Stock Car
The late model program represents a major step up in class and competition. Tom Usry Racing campaigns Matthew across the CARS Tour, the IHRA series, the I95 Showdown, and weekly events at South Boston Speedway, Anderson Motor Speedway, and Ace Speedway — giving him exposure to some of the most respected short track series in the country.
Asphalt Modified
The Modified program is where Matthew has already made a powerful statement, debuting in the Modifieds of Mayhem series with a pole position and podium at Montgomery Motor Speedway in his very first start. BMF Shocks & Chassis runs the #18 Modified across five tracks, including Five Flags Speedway and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.
Sportsman
The Sportsman division with Boyd Tech at Citrus County Speedway and through New Smyrna Speedweeks gives Matthew additional racing miles and race-craft development in a highly competitive class. Every lap counts.
