Matthew LaPrade Makes His Pro Late Model Debut at the 2026 World Crown 300 Weekend in Cordele

Matthew LaPrade runs his first World Crown 300 weekend at Cordele Motor Speedway on October 23 and 24, and the Saturday race is his debut in the #54 Pro Late Model for JC Motorsports.

The Race

The ASA Southern Super Series named him one of two rookies making the trip to the World Crown 300 for the first time. JC Motorsports set Saturday, October 24, as the day of his debut when the team announced the move on October 5.

The Weekend

The World Crown 300 is the ASA Southern Super Series finale, presented by Cohen Law Group, and the weekend decides the 2026 series champion with Asphalt Super Late Models and Pro Late Models on the card.

Practice is on Friday, October 23, and qualifying and racing follow on Saturday, according to the series.

The Super Late Model feature is the World Crown 300 itself and pays a minimum of $35,000 to win and $3,000 to start, per the series entry form. Matthew’s race is the 100-lap Pro Late Model event that runs alongside the feature on Saturday.

The Track

Cordele Motor Speedway is a 3/8-mile asphalt oval at 385 Farmers Market Road in Cordele, Georgia, half a mile from Exit 104 on I-75.

Matthew raced there this season. On August 22 he qualified third and finished second in the Modifieds of Mayhem 50 in the #18 BMF Shocks & Chassis Modified, and Saturday puts him back on the same 3/8-mile layout in a different car.

The #54

JC Motorsports fields the #54 on the CARS Tour, where Kaden Honeycutt has won Pro Late Model races at Caraway Speedway, Ace Speedway, and North Wilkesboro Speedway this season. That car goes to Cordele with Matthew in the seat for his first start with the organization.

In His Own Words

"I'm grateful to JC Motorsports for putting me in the #54 for my first World Crown 300 weekend. I know Cordele from running the Modified there in August, but a Pro Late Model is a different car and Friday's practice will matter a lot. The guys have put a lot of work into getting me ready. I want to give them a clean, smart 100 laps and keep getting better every time I'm in the car."
